LEARNING EXPERIENCE
The modes of learning are lecture, small group tutorials, small group discussions, distance learning, work assignments and presentations. All teaching materials and modes of learning are in English.
Each student is assigned a faculty preceptor from Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University or Khon Kaen University or Chulalongkorn University. A preceptor is selected on the basis of the student’s interests and the preceptor’s expertise and students are allowed to participate in the preceptor selection process.
EVALUATION
I.Course Work Contents for Evaluation : Course Work Attendance To be eligible for a Master Degree, a student must at least attend 80%of the coursework.. Written Work All written works or assignments are submitted within due date and they are reviewed by faculty who offers feedback and evaluation. Seminar Presentation Each student is assigned to present a paper on critical appraisal of research information, research methodology, clinical economics, and social sciences and measurement to the group in class, faculty members and external evaluators. Feedbacks and evaluations are given by faculty members and external evaluators. Criteria for Evaluation : Criterion reference and norm reference are applied. A fellow should receive at least an average grade of B to be eligible for a Master Degree.
II.Thesis Contents for Evaluation : Each student needs to write and defend a research proposal intended to be the thesis for a Master Degree. The student and his/her preceptor should agree on the topic and contents of the research proposal which must also be approved by assigned thesis committee and subsequently by Graduate School and the Ethics Committee. Once the thesis execution is completed, the student needs to write up, defend and submit it to the Graduate School of Chulalongkorn University for evaluation and a Master Degree approval. Criteria for Evaluation : A Master of Science Program in Health Development (Clinical Epidemiology) is offered once the thesis is approved based on its quality as judged by the preceptor and assigned thesis committee.
